14th Thai Silk Festival: From Local to Global

Students from the Visual Communication Design Program and the Art Education Program, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, showcased their creative talents in three design teams at the 14th Thai Silk Festival: From Local to Global. The event highlighted the beauty and versatility of Thai silk through a spectacular fashion show, where their designs were proudly worn by the Ambassadors of Pakistan, Brazil, and Sweden, bringing Thai silk to the global stage in a modern and elegant style. The student teams worked under the close guidance of academic advisors, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawan Pinkaeo, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kengkard Tonthongkham, Ms. Sirinya Arayajaru, and Ms. Kittiya Kaewsa-ard, along with faculty coordinators from the English Program: Dr. Benjawan Plengkham, Mr. Nupong Phusri, Ms. Duangjit Sukphapsuk, Mr. Paisan Phengsuae, and Ms. Arlene De Castro Bobadilla. This participation represents not only the students’ design skills and creativity but also the collaborative spirit among faculty members across disciplines. It provided students with invaluable experience in working alongside professionals and presenting Thai silk fashion designs to international audiences, reinforcing the role of Thai silk as cultural soft power on the world stage.
