The project Integration of Humanities and Social Sciences for Local Development

On June 30, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, organized the project “Integration of Humanities and Social Sciences for Local Development: Knowledge and Innovation Transfer to the Community through Project Presentations” at Siriworapanya Auditorium.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phitakphong Pompranee, Vice President for Research and Local Development, with a project report delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawan Pinkaeo, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Community leaders including Mr. Kriangwit Wiriya-hirunpaiboon (Kamnan of Bang Pla Subdistrict), Ms. Kanyanee Chumchuen (Director of Wat Bang Pla School), Mr. Wattana Phet-Ae (Bang Pla Subdistrict Inspector), and Mr. Pridi Phet-yuan (local entrepreneur) also shared their reflections on the project’s positive impact on the community.
The project was conducted in Bang Pla Subdistrict, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province, integrating knowledge from 16 academic disciplines and aligning it with community identity and professional competencies. The event showcased knowledge transfer and innovation that connect academic expertise with local contexts.

Creative performances from project outcomes, such as “New Generation Youth, Proud of Thai Song Dam Heritage”, “Stories of Bang Pla People” by Thai major students, and Angklung music performances (Bu Sen Sok and Chang) by local schools.

Brain-Based Learning classroom resources for the Bang Pla Child Development Center
Reading comprehension skill books, Thai Song Dam folktale storybooks, and board games for 3 community schools
Community mapping for Village No. 6, including walking maps and GIS maps for local planning
Textile crafts and embroidered community products (4 items)
Thai Song Dam performance sets and angklung music ensembles for youth groups
Community product prototypes (e.g., Mae Nui’s Sticky Rice with Banana, Mae Somjai’s Sun-Dried Nile Tilapia, Mae Somnuek’s Fermented Fish with Toasted Rice, and traditional weaving from Ban Ko Rat)
Bang Pla cultural mascots and LINE stickers (2 sets) to generate revenue for community welfare
???? The exhibition featured 21 innovation projects co-created by faculty, students, and the community, demonstrating the true potential of universities in driving local development.
???? The project involved 280 participants, comprising 55 faculty members, 85 students, and 140 local community members, schoolteachers, and leaders.
✨ This initiative serves as a model for university–community engagement, transforming classroom knowledge into real-world applications, fostering innovation, human resource development, and sustainable opportunities for local growth.
